The Forest was an installation for a housing development in Aberfeldy in East London. The brief was to create an enchanted forest utilising building materials.
We thinly sliced 200 meters of drain pipe into 1500 pieces which were then riveted together to create the canopies of the trees and growths up the walls.
In stark contrast to the drain pipe used for the bulk of the trees, 22mm cooper pipe gave the trees another dimension and also functioned to support the larger canopies
that reached across the space. As well as twinkling lights that ran up the inside of the trunks, subtly visible for the more inquisitive visitors,
a series of dmx controlled lights were mounted onto the ceiling to cast moving shadows across the space. (See video at bottom of page)
